Worcester Community Action Council Head Start/Early Head Start free

The Worcester Community Action Council’s Head Start program serves 221 children and families in Southern Worcester County. Full Day, full year; full day, school year; and half day, school-year options are available. The center-based programs provide developmentally appropriate curricula, health and nutrition services, breakfast, lunch and snack, special education opportunities, and family services. Services are provided at no charge to families meeting income-eligible guidelines.

The Worcester Housing Authority offers residents a clean, safe, and well-maintained living environment in which to live and raise their families. The WHA reserves 15 apartments to house homeless families in its Transitional Housing Program in order to help homeless families become self-sufficient. The WHA also provides housing opportunities for individual and families with disabilities. These programs include federal public housing, state public housing, special needs housing, an alternative housing voucher program, and more. Cost is based on income.
